LFG Player of the Game Alvin Kamara shows he still has juice at 29. In a stunning display of skill and determination, the Saints running back scored four touchdowns in a single game against the Cowboys, matching a feat accomplished by only one other NFL player during his lifetime. This remarkable achievement came during the Saints’ 44-19 victory at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Kamara’s performance included three rushing touchdowns and a spectacular 57-yard reception from quarterback Derek Carr, leading the Saints to a decisive road win. This impressive outing also earned him the distinction of being only the second player to receive Tom Brady’s LFG Player of the Game honors.

“What a performance by you. You did it in the run game, you did it in the pass game, you were awesome today,” Brady remarked while presenting the award on air after the game aired on FOX.
Finishing the game with 180 total yards, Kamara credited his offensive line for their support and humorously thanked Brady for the accolade. “This came out of your budget, Tom?” he joked while showcasing the award.
The Saints kicked off their season with a commanding 47-10 win over Carolina, but the victory against the Cowboys, who had a 16-game home winning streak, served as a true test. Scoring touchdowns on their first six drives, the Saints showcased their dominance over the Dallas defense.
This win came during a challenging week for New Orleans, as the city faced flooding and power outages due to Hurricane Francine. Kamara expressed hope that their victory could uplift the community during difficult times. “It’s tough any time you hear the word storm in New Orleans, right?” he said. “I know a lot of people lost some stuff this week, so I’m definitely feeling for them and offering prayers for them.”
Even in the Cowboys’ home opener, the chants of “Who dat?” from Saints fans echoed through the stadium as the team continued to score. Kamara initiated the scoring with a 5-yard touchdown on the opening drive and later expanded the lead with a 57-yard touchdown reception.
“We were able to run the football, and any time you can run the football, win the line of scrimmage, every coach is going to preach it until they’re blue in the face, but our guys have just been executing really well,” Carr stated, emphasizing the importance of the offensive line’s performance.
Kamara’s future with the Saints is uncertain as he approaches the final year of his contract, which is set to pay him $22 million in 2025. At 29, he finds himself at a crossroads, as many running backs experience a decline around this age.
His achievement of scoring four touchdowns in a game against the Cowboys places him among an elite group of players. He is now the fifth player in history to accomplish this feat, joining notable names like Aaron Jones and Sterling Sharpe. The magnitude of this victory resonates nationally, especially considering many experts had predicted a less favorable season for the Saints.
The Saints aim to build on this strong start and return to the playoffs for the first time since 2020. Kamara expressed optimism about the team’s direction, stating, “I feel good. I mean this: I feel like I can play until I feel like I don’t want to play. I love the city. So let’s keep going.”
“I’m 29. I guess I’m old in football years, but I don’t feel old,” he concluded, showcasing his youthful spirit and commitment to the game.
