Cameron and Cayden Boozer, sons of former NBA star Carlos Boozer, have committed to play basketball for Duke University, continuing a family legacy in the sport.
The twin brothers, both celebrated as five-star prospects, made their announcement through a video shared on the Players’ Tribune on Friday.
Cameron stands tall at 6-foot-9 and is recognized as the No. 2 college prospect in the ESPN Top 100 rankings. His brother Cayden, a 6-foot-5 guard, follows closely behind at No. 17.
As Duke’s first commitments for the class of 2025, the Boozer brothers symbolize the ongoing recruitment success of head coach Jon Scheyer, who has taken the reins following the legendary Mike Krzyzewski’s retirement after the 2021-22 season.
This season, the Blue Devils have secured the nation’s top-rated recruiting class, led by Cooper Flagg, a 6-foot-9 forward projected as a potential first overall pick in the upcoming NBA Draft.
Carlos Boozer, who played for Duke from 1999 to 2002, was part of the Blue Devils’ national championship team in 2001, solidifying his place in the program’s history.
After being selected as a first-round pick in the 2002 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers, he enjoyed a successful 13-year career in the league, playing for teams such as the Utah Jazz, Chicago Bulls, and the Los Angeles Lakers.
Expressing pride in his sons’ decision, Carlos stated, “They made the best decision for them. Me and Mom couldn’t be any prouder. It’s going to be a fun journey.”
