Former Raiders DE Chandler Jones Accepts Plea Deal, Likely Avoids Jail Time

Former Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Chandler Jones pleaded no contest on June 17 to a domestic violence charge, evading jail time under specific conditions, as per Clark County court documents. A suspended 90-day jail sentence awaits him, contingent on avoiding further trouble for six months and respecting a no-contact order with the victim outside Family Court regulations.

Jones, 34, faced arrest in September for breaching a domestic violence protective order and was apprehended again in October. Initially charged with two misdemeanors in September, he saw one charge dismissed upon his plea. The Raiders released Jones after his first arrest during his second year of a three-year $51 million contract.

The defensive end, honored with four Pro Bowl selections and two first-team All-Pro nods, departed from the Raiders since Labor Day weekend due to conduct on social media targeting team officials. Placed on the non-football injury/illness list, Jones didn’t participate in the previous NFL season, holding 112 sacks over 11 seasons.
