Yankees’ Giancarlo Stanton will start the season on the injured list due to ongoing elbow issues. This setback raises concerns for the team as they look to build momentum in the upcoming games.
According to Fox Sports, Stanton has received platelet-rich plasma injections in both elbows to aid his recovery. The 2017 National League MVP has been absent from the team for personal reasons but is anticipated to return to the Yankees in Tampa within the week, providing a glimmer of hope for fans.
Last season, the 35-year-old outfielder recorded a batting average of .233 with 27 home runs and 72 RBIs across 114 games. He also showcased his prowess during the postseason, hitting seven homers and driving in 16 runs in just 14 games, earning the ALCS MVP title after the Yankees’ victory over the Cleveland Guardians.
