Johnny Cardoso’s Stunning First La Liga Goal Secures Epic 2-1 Victory Over Real Madrid!

USMNT midfielder Johnny Cardoso scores first La Liga goal in 2-1 win vs. Real Madrid

USMNT midfielder Johnny Cardoso scored his first La Liga goal during a thrilling match that saw Real Betis triumph over Real Madrid, 2-1.

This remarkable achievement came as Betis staged a comeback after trailing 1-0 on Saturday. The 23-year-old’s goal marked a significant milestone in his budding career.

In the 34th minute, Cardoso found the net with a header from a corner kick delivered by Isco, a former player for Madrid. This goal leveled the score after Brahim Díaz had put Madrid ahead earlier in the match.

The momentum shifted further when Isco converted a penalty in the 54th minute. After a foul by Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger on Jesus Rodriguez, Isco stepped up to give Betis the lead.

This loss for Madrid left them tied on points with their rivals Barcelona, who were set to face Real Sociedad on Sunday. Atletico Madrid trailed closely behind, just one point off the pace, before their match against Athletic Bilbao.

Kylian Mbappe returned to the starting lineup for Madrid after missing a match due to a dental issue. Coach Carlo Ancelotti opted to substitute him with 15 minutes remaining, likely with an eye on the upcoming Champions League round-of-16 clash against Atletico.
