Texas Tech Boosts Coaching Staff with Key Changes
Grant McCasland, Texas Tech’s head basketball coach, has elevated Chris Nottingham to Director of Player Development and brought Brian Pete on board as the new Video Coordinator. Pete, having honed his skills at Vanderbilt, also boasts significant experience with Gonzaga, the San Antonio Spurs, and Nike. Meanwhile, Nottingham continues to build on his solid contributions from his first season with the Red Raiders.
Nottingham’s journey includes being a valuable asset at Baylor, where he held multiple roles and played a significant part in their 2021 National Championship win. He continues to leverage his expertise to enhance player development and team strategy at Texas Tech. Known for his deep understanding of the game, Nottingham effectively balances video analysis with practical coaching to uplift the team’s performance.
Pete’s impressive background spans various high-level basketball operations, from assisting the coaching staff at Vanderbilt to engaging in quality assurance with the Spurs. His tenure at Gonzaga saw him transition from team manager to player, celebrating numerous tournament triumphs. Earning degrees from Gonzaga and Vanderbilt, Pete’s diverse skill set and analytical acumen are anticipated to significantly benefit the Red Raiders’ tactical preparations and player development.
