Steph Curry and Warriors Seal Multi-Year Deal: A Future Together Until 2027!

Steph Curry, Warriors agree to extension through 2026-27 season

Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors have reached an agreement for an extension that will keep him in the Bay Area through the 2026-27 season.

The talented guard has finalized a one-year contract extension worth $62.6 million, as confirmed by his agent to ESPN on Thursday. This deal solidifies Curry’s future with the franchise, where he has already made a significant impact by winning four championships.

Earlier this offseason, Curry became eligible for a one-year extension, which represents the maximum amount he could earn. Although he had the option to wait until next year for a two-year extension that could have been valued at approximately $130 million, he chose to secure his commitment to the Warriors now, according to NBA insider Marc Stein.

Curry’s decision underscores his loyalty to a franchise that has been pivotal in his career. The Warriors have faced challenges recently, including the departure of Klay Thompson, who left in free agency after the team struggled to make the playoffs in the 2023-24 season. This marked the end of a remarkable partnership that defined one of the league’s most successful backcourt duos over the past 12 years.

Despite these changes, the Warriors have remained proactive during the offseason. They attempted to acquire stars like Paul George and Lauri Markkanen but were unsuccessful. Instead, they added depth by signing Kyle Anderson, Buddy Hield, and De’Anthony Melton, aiming to fill the void left by Thompson’s exit.

At 36 years old, Curry continues to perform at an elite level, averaging 26.4 points per game last season and earning his 10th All-NBA selection. Additionally, he played a vital role in the United States men’s basketball team’s gold medal victory at the 2024 Summer Olympics, further solidifying his status as one of the game’s greats.
