Steelers’ quarterback room is set to feature some familiar faces in 2025.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are actively engaging with both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields, aiming to keep at least one of these talented quarterbacks, according to insider sources.
However, the Steelers face stiff competition in retaining either of their co-starters from the previous season. Both quarterbacks have attracted interest from other teams, with the New York Giants vying for Wilson and the New York Jets expressing a strong preference for Fields as free agency approaches.
Interestingly, both the Giants and Jets hold top-10 draft picks, with the Giants sitting at No. 3 and the Jets at No. 7, giving them additional leverage in their pursuit of a new quarterback.
The Giants are considering multiple quarterback options, including the possibility of acquiring Aaron Rodgers. Meanwhile, the Jets are moving on from Rodgers after a less-than-stellar two-year tenure. They are particularly impressed with Fields, noting his athleticism, leadership skills, and potential for growth in the coming years.
Fields joined the Steelers last season after a three-year stint with the Chicago Bears, who selected him 11th overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. Wilson, a seasoned veteran and 10-time Pro Bowler, has been a starting quarterback throughout his 13-year career.
