Sacramento Kings Add College Star to Summer League Roster

Drew Timme recently played for the Wisconsin Herd in the G League, where he averaged 10.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game, shooting 57.8% from the field and 33.3% from beyond the arc over 15 games, including four starts. Timme’s notable college career at Gonzaga saw him average 21.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per contest in his senior season. Based on his performance, he landed a spot on the Sacramento Kings’ Summer League roster for the California Classic, alongside Keon Ellis and Colby Jones, as confirmed by James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento.

Despite not having made his NBA debut yet, Timme’s solid G League stats and stellar college performance bolster his prospects. By shooting nearly 62% from the field over 134 college games, Timme showcased his scoring and rebounding prowess. His appearance in the Elite 8 with Gonzaga added to his reputation, making him a player to watch in the Summer League as he aims for a training camp invite.

The Sacramento Kings, coming off a season where they finished ninth in the Western Conference with a 46-36 record, see potential in players like Timme to bolster their roster. Although they missed the playoffs after falling to the New Orleans Pelicans in the play-in tournament, the Kings are keen to enhance their squad through promising talents showcased in the Summer League.
