Tottenham Hotspur Targets Dominic Solanke
Tottenham Hotspur, under the management of Ange Postecoglou, is keen on acquiring Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke before this summer’s transfer window closes. Solanke, a former Liverpool player, emerged as one of the Premier League’s top goal scorers last season with 19 goals in 38 matches. This performance significantly contributed to Bournemouth’s best-ever Premier League finish, positioning Solanke behind only Erling Haaland, Cole Palmer, and Alexander Isak in the 2023-24 scoring charts.
Other top clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea, and West Ham United, have also shown interest in Solanke. However, West Ham’s lack of European competition next season may make them less attractive to the player. Reports suggest that Postecoglou is actively pushing for Tottenham to secure Solanke’s signature. Solanke recently extended his contract with Bournemouth, including a £65m release clause that certain clubs, like Tottenham, can trigger, partly due to their Big Six status and Europa League participation.
If Tottenham proceeds with the full £65m fee, Solanke would become their most expensive signing, surpassing the £54m paid for Tanguy Ndombele in 2019. Tottenham is not only eyeing Solanke as a successor to Harry Kane but also considering him as a potential replacement for Richarlison, who might move to the Saudi Pro League. The final decision remains uncertain, as Bournemouth’s coach, Andoni Iraola, expressed doubts about Solanke’s future at the club despite his current contentment.
