Neymar has received his first call-up to the Brazilian national team since 2023, marking a significant moment in his football journey after a lengthy absence of nearly one and a half years.
The 33-year-old forward was selected by coach Dorival Junior for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Colombia and Argentina, scheduled for later this month.
Recently, Neymar made his comeback with Santos following a serious ACL injury sustained in October 2023, demonstrating resilience and determination.
After parting ways with Al-Hilal in January, he signed a six-month contract with his childhood club, Santos, reigniting his passion for the game.
Currently, Brazil sits in fifth place in the South American qualifying standings, preparing to host Colombia on March 20 before heading to Argentina for a match at the iconic Monumental de Nunez Stadium in Buenos Aires five days later.
“He has played two full matches for Santos, and we have managed his minutes carefully,” Júnior commented. “We will monitor his performance closely as we approach our qualifiers.”
