Neymar Set to Make Triumphant Return Next Week After Year-Long ACL Recovery!

Neymar available next week after year-long recovery from ACL injury

Neymar is set to make his return for Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal in an AFC Champions League Elite match next week, marking a significant milestone after a year-long recovery from a serious ACL injury.

According to a statement from his marketing agency, NR Sports, the Brazilian superstar’s passion for soccer and aspirations to compete in the upcoming World Cup have motivated his comeback.

“While a final decision regarding his return is yet to be made, the number 10 is expected to play on Monday, continuing his impressive journey,” the statement indicated, referring to Al-Hilal’s upcoming match against Al-Ain, a team from the United Arab Emirates.

Neymar joined Al-Hilal in August 2023 but played only five matches before facing surgery for a ruptured meniscus and anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, an injury sustained while on international duty in October of the previous year.

“These months were filled with pain, anxiety, and a deep yearning for soccer, but I found strength in my family and friends who stood by me throughout,” the statement added, acknowledging the global fan support he received through social media. “The wait is finally over.”

A recent social media post featured the 32-year-old discussing his recovery, along with video clips showcasing his determination to return to the field.

“Whenever I get injured, I always come back,” Neymar expressed emotionally in the video. “But I don’t return halfway.”

He resumed training in July, but in September, Al-Hilal’s coach Jorge Jesus tempered expectations for an immediate return, leaving Neymar’s participation on Monday uncertain.

Neymar’s two-year contract with Al-Hilal is set to conclude next August. He is eligible to compete in AFC Champions League Elite matches, as there are no restrictions on foreign players in this tournament. However, he will only be able to participate in the Saudi Pro League starting in January.

If he maintains his fitness, Neymar could also make a return to Brazil’s national team during two rounds of South American World Cup qualifying scheduled for November.
