Mets’ Brandon Nimmo Misses Game Following Hotel Room Fainting Incident

New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo missed Monday night’s 9-7 victory against the Washington Nationals after fainting in his hotel room and hitting his head. Mets manager Carlos Mendoza confirmed that although Nimmo suffered a cut on his forehead, he did not have a concussion. All medical tests, including a CT scan, came back negative.

Nimmo recalled waking up feeling unwell around 5:15 a.m., heading to the bathroom, and then fainting due to cramping. Upon regaining consciousness, he found himself bleeding and contacted the Mets’ trainers for assistance. Despite visiting the hospital for further tests, Nimmo arrived at the ballpark before game time with a bandaged forehead, stating he hoped to return to play soon.

With Nimmo out, Jeff McNeil started in left field. Nimmo, who has been with the Mets for nine seasons, boasts a .247 batting average, 13 homers, and team-high 50 RBIs this season. His contributions are significant, and his presence is expected back on the field shortly.
