Marquette men’s basketball has outlined its non-conference schedule, which now includes an exciting home-and-home series with Dayton. The Golden Eagles will play at Dayton on Dec. 14, 2024, with the Flyers visiting Fiserv Forum in the 2025-26 season. Dayton, coached by Anthony Grant, recently lost NBA draft pick DaRon Holmes but strengthened its roster with transfers Posh Alexander and Zed Key. Marquette coach Shaka Smart has a personal history with Dayton, having served as director of basketball operations there early in his career.
Marquette fans can look forward to key matchups against Big Ten teams. Highlights include games at Maryland on Nov. 15, and against Purdue on Nov. 19. The Golden Eagles also play Iowa State on Dec. 4 as part of the Big East-Big 12 Battle, underscoring a challenging schedule designed to prepare the team for conference play. In-state rivalry game against Wisconsin is set for Dec. 7.
The full non-conference slate features additional games, including notable contests against Stony Brook, George Mason, Central Michigan, Georgia (in Nassau, Bahamas), Stonehill, and Western Carolina. This schedule offers a mix of high-profile battles and opportunities to build momentum before entering Big East competition.
