Juan Soto Hits a Spectacular Home Run in His Mets Spring Training Debut!

Juan Soto blasts home run in first at-bat with Mets during spring training

Juan Soto blasts a home run in his first at-bat with the New York Mets during spring training, signaling a promising start for the team’s significant investment.

On Saturday, Soto sent a solo shot soaring to left-center field on a 2-1 count against the Houston Astros, showcasing his power right out of the gate.

The Mets made headlines when they signed the 26-year-old outfielder to a record-breaking 15-year, $765-million contract in December 2024, marking a bold move in American sports history.

Soto, a five-time Silver Slugger and four-time All-Star, previously played for the New York Yankees, where he contributed to their World Series run last season. He recorded a career-high 41 home runs and 109 RBIs during the regular season, along with an impressive .288/.419/.569 batting line. In the postseason, he elevated his game further, hitting four home runs and driving in nine runs while boasting a .327/.469/.633 slash line.

Before joining the Yankees, Soto spent over four seasons with the Washington Nationals, playing a crucial role in their 2019 World Series victory. After a stint with the San Diego Padres, he was traded to New York, where he continued to shine.

The Mets, fresh off an 89-73 season, reached the National League Championship Series but fell short against the Los Angeles Dodgers, the eventual World Series champions. Soto’s arrival adds a new layer of excitement as the team aims for a deeper playoff run this year.
