Baylor Scheierman: From College Stardom to the NBA
Baylor Scheierman has achieved his dream, being selected by the Boston Celtics as the No. 30 overall pick in the 2024 NBA draft. Standing 6-foot-7 and weighing 205 pounds, Scheierman is known for his versatility and sharpshooting skills. His college career, which began at South Dakota State and peaked at Creighton, saw him earning accolades like All-American and unanimous All-Big East selection. Remarkably, he is the only NCAA Division I player ever to surpass 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds, 500 assists, and 300 3-pointers.
During his senior year at Creighton, Scheierman delivered an outstanding performance, averaging 18.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game in a career-high 36.8 minutes of play. His record-breaking achievements include the first triple-double in school history and leading the Big East with 16 double-doubles. His remarkable play was integral to Creighton’s success, including an Elite Eight appearance in 2023 and advancing to the Sweet 16 in 2024.
Ahead of the draft, Scheierman worked out for seven teams and showcased his talent in the NBA draft combine. He impressed many with his performance, particularly in his first scrimmage.
