Faksa and Joseph Join the St. Louis Blues
Radek Faksa and Mathieu Joseph were both traded to the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday for future considerations. Faksa, acquired from the Dallas Stars, tallied 19 points in 74 regular-season games last season and has one year left on his $16.25 million contract. He can become an unrestricted free agent after this season. His career stats include 200 points in 638 regular-season games and 20 points in 79 playoff games since being picked 13th overall in the 2012 NHL Draft.
Joseph, coming from the Ottawa Senators, notched a career-high 35 points in 72 games last season. The 27-year-old forward has two seasons left on his four-year, $11.8 million deal, becoming a UFA after the 2025-26 season. The Blues also secured a third-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft from Ottawa. Selected 120th overall in the 2015 NHL Draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning, Joseph has 135 points in 135 regular-season games and offers valuable playoff experience.
These trades bring added depth and experience to the Blues’ roster as they prepare for the upcoming season. faksa’s defensive prowess and Joseph’s offensive contributions will be assets as St. Louis seeks to bolster its lineup and make a deeper playoff run.
