Anthony Davis on the Rise: Mavs Keep Fans Guessing with No Return Timeline!

Anthony Davis is 'improving daily,' but Mavs still have no timetable for his return

Anthony Davis is reportedly improving daily, according to the Dallas Mavericks, yet the team has not provided a specific timeline for when he might return to the court. This uncertainty lingers as fans eagerly await his comeback.

Since joining the Mavericks in a blockbuster trade on February 2, which saw fan favorite Luka Doncic move to the Los Angeles Lakers, Davis has only participated in one game. His presence is missed, especially given his status as a 10-time All-Star.

The Mavericks also noted that center Dereck Lively II is making strides in his recovery from a right ankle stress fracture, having recently begun individual court work. Both Davis and Lively will undergo weekly evaluations to track their progress.

In his last game against the Houston Rockets on February 8, Davis showcased his skills with an impressive stat line of 26 points, 16 rebounds, seven assists, and three blocks, before suffering an injury late in the third quarter.

Prior to his trade, Davis missed his final two games with the Lakers due to an abdominal strain, which added to the frustration of Mavericks fans hoping to see him in action sooner.

As the Mavericks prepared for their home game against the Memphis Grizzlies, they found themselves in a tight race for the last play-in spot in the Western Conference. This marked the 11th game that Davis has missed with Dallas, leaving the team with 18 regular-season games to play.

Meanwhile, the Lakers have thrived since Doncic’s debut on February 10, boasting a 9-2 record, including an impressive eight-game winning streak.

In addition, Mavericks center Daniel Gafford missed his 10th game on Friday due to a right knee sprain. The team reported that Gafford is showing progress and will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
