2024 Best NFL wide receivers: Justin Jefferson and Tyreek Hill lead rankings as the NFL season approaches. With Week 1 just around the corner, the FOX Sports NFL team has been diligently presenting their annual position rankings, highlighting the standout players in the league.
In recent weeks, the analysis has focused on the top off-ball linebackers, cornerbacks, edge rushers, and running backs. Now, attention turns to the wide receivers. The FOX Sports NFL staff has ranked their top 10 wide receivers heading into the 2024 season, assigning points based on their votes, with a first-place pick earning 10 points and descending down to one point for the tenth spot. The final rankings reflect these cumulative scores.
This year’s list of running backs features six players returning from the previous year, and the wide receiver rankings tell a similar story. While three newcomers have made their mark in 2023, seven familiar faces continue to shine.
For the second consecutive year, Justin Jefferson and Tyreek Hill occupy the top two spots on the list, following their impressive performances in 2023.
The wide receiver position is notably youthful, with six of the top ten players aged 26 or younger. However, three seasoned veterans over the age of 30 have also made the cut.
The rankings will continue to roll out as the season kickoff approaches. For now, here’s a look at the best wide receivers in the NFL for 2024.
2024 Top NFL Wide Receivers
1. Justin Jefferson, Minnesota Vikings
Carmen Vitali: What more can be said about Jefferson, who secured the largest contract for a non-quarterback in the league? This offseason, he signed a groundbreaking four-year, $140 million extension, translating to an impressive annual value of $35 million.
2023 rank: 1st
2. Tyreek Hill, Miami Dolphins
2023 rank: 2nd
3. CeeDee Lamb, Dallas Cowboys
McKenna: While contracts can sometimes obscure a player’s true value, Lamb’s deal reflects his worth. Ranked third on this list, he showcased his skills last season with 1,749 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns. Whether from the slot or the outside, Lamb consistently found ways to impact the game, even when defenses anticipated his involvement. He recorded 17 targets in three separate games, including the playoffs, demonstrating his ability to deliver.
2023 rank: 8th (+5)
4. Ja’Marr Chase, Cincinnati Bengals
Ben Arthur: Chase, who is expected to secure a lucrative extension, has been a dominant force since joining the league in 2021. He set a rookie record with 1,455 yards and 13 touchdowns. Despite facing injuries and missing games, he still managed impressive yardage. With Joe Burrow returning, Chase is primed for a breakout season in his fourth year, provided contract negotiations don’t overshadow his performance.
2023 rank: 4th
5. A.J. Brown, Philadelphia Eagles
Brown’s consistent production stands out, especially with a talented Eagles offense that includes DeVonta Smith. Over the past two seasons, he has amassed 194 catches, 2,952 yards, and 17 touchdowns. Even with the ball distribution among teammates, Brown has consistently found ways to make an impact.
2023 rank: 6th (+1)
6. Davante Adams, Las Vegas Raiders
Greg Auman: Adams, who previously led the league in touchdown receptions, faces new challenges with average quarterbacks. His run of six consecutive Pro Bowls ended last season, and he will now work with Gardner Minshew. Adams is on the verge of a career milestone, needing just five more touchdowns to reach 100, adding to his Hall of Fame credentials.
2023 rank: 3 (-3)
7. Amon-Ra St. Brown, Detroit Lions
St. Brown earned an All-Pro selection last season, signaling his rising status in the league. With the Lions’ recent success, he is likely to gain more recognition in the upcoming season.
2023 rank: 10th (+3)
8. Brandon Aiyuk, San Francisco 49ers
Williams: Aiyuk’s recent four-year, $120 million contract reflects his importance as a top receiver. Leading the 49ers in receiving yards (1,342) and tying for touchdown receptions (seven) in 2023, he earned second-team All-Pro honors. His performance on intermediate targets showcases his versatility and ability to make big plays.
