2024 best NFL running backs highlight Christian McCaffrey and Derrick Henry at the top of the rankings. As the NFL season nears, FOX Sports NFL staff has been revealing their annual position rankings, showcasing the players who dominate the field.
In recent weeks, the focus has shifted from off-ball linebackers and cornerbacks to the running backs. The FOX Sports NFL staff ranked their top ten running backs for the upcoming season. The scoring system awarded points based on the position voted for, with first-place votes earning 10 points and descending to one point for the tenth spot. This method allowed for a clear ranking of the best players.
This year’s running back rankings feature a mix of familiar faces and newcomers. Six players from the previous year’s list have returned, while four fresh talents have made their mark. The current roster also showcases a wealth of young talent, as five of the top ten running backs are 25 or younger, with many entering their second or third year in the league.
As the season approaches, the FOX Sports team will continue to unveil the best players across other positions. For now, here are the leading running backs for 2024.
