The United States men’s national team and Monaco striker Folarin Balogun is set to undergo surgery for a dislocated shoulder, a setback that has raised concerns among fans and teammates alike.
Ahead of Monaco’s crucial Champions League clash against Arsenal on Wednesday, coach Adi Hütter expressed uncertainty about Balogun’s recovery timeline following the operation.
Previously sidelined for approximately two months due to this injury, Balogun made his return to the pitch at the end of November. Unfortunately, he was injured again during a recent 2-1 defeat to Marseille, experiencing ongoing pain that forced him to miss training sessions last week.
Earlier this season, Balogun showcased impressive form, netting goals in three consecutive matches, including a standout performance in a 2-1 victory over Rennes on October 5. His promising run was cut short when he dislocated his shoulder, leading to his withdrawal from several matches with the U.S. team.
Born in New York and raised in London, Balogun joined Monaco on a five-year deal after leaving Arsenal last year, marking a significant chapter in his career.
