Rangers Secure Braden Schneider with Two-Year, $4.4 Million Contract

Rangers Keep Blue Line Intact with Braden Schneider Signing

Braden Schneider re-signed with the New York Rangers on a two-year, $4.4 million bridge deal. This move stabilizes the defense, pairing the 22-year-old likely with K’Andre Miller next season. Schneider expressed confidence in his growth, aiming to build on a strong season that saw him thrive both in the regular season and playoffs.

Securing Schneider’s contract, valued at $2.2 million annually, helps balance the team’s salary cap, especially when considering Jacob Trouba’s $8 million hit. General manager Chris Drury’s next focus is re-signing Ryan Lindgren, who’s projected to get a six-year deal around $4.88 million annually, fitting into the Rangers’ remaining cap space.

If Lindgren is re-signed, Zac Jones is expected to take on a more significant role, stepping into the third defensive pair. This anticipated change hints at a more solidified defensive corps for the Rangers in the 2024-25 season.
