This latest development has the support of MD Gov. Larry Hogan. Initial projections were hopeful that domestic betting apps would start accepting bets in time for the 2022 NFL and college football seasons, but it took another three months to iron out regulations and process applications.

Mobile MD sportsbook debuts just in time to bet on the Thanksgiving NFL games, the FIFA World Cup and the final games of the regular season for NCAA football.
Maryland’s largest sports betting handle recorded in its first 11 months of operation was $32,530,831 raised during the January 2022 NFL playoffs.
MD has a population of 6.2 million people, which is only a few hundred thousand fewer than the state of Indiana, a region that already has mobile, online, and individual sports betting.
For comparison, Indiana raised $500,138,648 in January 2022, which should give readers an idea of why lawmakers are so eager to introduce online and mobile sports betting options.
While these domestic apps offer lines, odds, and futures on major sports taking place in the United States, they do not offer exotic prop bets, political bets, or entertainment odds for popular reality TV shows, pro-wrestling, celebrity romance, and others pop culture characteristics.
