Cooper DeJean’s younger brother, Jaxx, has received an impressive offer from the University of Michigan.
This week has been monumental for the DeJean family. Cooper made headlines by snagging his first NFL interception during the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl LIX victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, returning a pass from star quarterback Patrick Mahomes for a touchdown. Amid the celebrations, Jaxx was making waves of his own with a significant offer.
The Wolverines have extended their hand to the Class of 2027 standout, marking the fourth offer for the five-star wide receiver and defensive back. Alongside Michigan, schools such as Iowa, Kansas State, and UAB have also recognized his potential.
Recently, Jaxx informed 247 Sports of his growth spurt, now standing at an impressive 6-foot-6. His rising status in the recruiting world has landed him as the 29th-best prospect in the 2027 class according to 247 Sports’ composite ranking.
Like his older brother, Jaxx excels in multiple sports. He has garnered attention for his athleticism in basketball, notably for a spectacular dunk earlier this season. Additionally, he participates in baseball and track, although football seems to be his primary focus as he navigates the recruitment process.
Under the guidance of head coach Sherrone Moore, Michigan has built a strong recruiting class for 2025, ranking sixth nationally. The Wolverines have secured two commitments for the Class of 2026 but are still in the early stages of recruiting for 2027.
While Iowa may appear to have an advantage in securing Jaxx’s commitment, wherever he chooses to play, it’s unlikely he will encounter the same celebratory mishaps as Cooper, who famously got a cut above his eye from a flying beer can during the Eagles’ championship parade.
