Aaron Rodgers becomes the ninth NFL player to throw for 60,000 yards in regular-season games, marking a significant achievement in his illustrious career.
The 40-year-old quarterback for the New York Jets reached this milestone during a game against the Minnesota Vikings at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, completing a 7-yard pass to Tyler Conklin in the third quarter.
As a four-time NFL MVP, he joins an elite group of players, with Tom Brady leading the pack at 89,214 yards. Other notable names on this list include Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, and Brett Favre, the latter of whom Rodgers backed up during his early years in Green Bay.
Following Favre’s impressive total of 71,838 yards, the list also features Ben Roethlisberger, Philip Rivers, Matt Ryan, and Dan Marino.
Matt Ryan, who reached this milestone as the eighth player, did so in 223 games, while Brees holds the record for the fastest at 215 games.
Entering the game, Rodgers required 96 passing yards to achieve the 60,000-yard mark.
On the same day, the seasoned veteran also surpassed Dan Marino to secure the seventh spot on the NFL’s all-time list for total passing yards, which includes both regular-season and playoff statistics, needing just 74 yards to accomplish this feat.
