Travis Hunter’s Shocking Exit: Colorado Star Injured in Clash Against KSU!

Colorado's Travis Hunter leaves game vs. KSU with apparent shoulder injury

Colorado’s Travis Hunter exited the Buffaloes’ matchup against Kansas State late in the second quarter due to a concerning shoulder injury sustained during a 14-yard reception.

After the injury, Hunter made his way to the locker room, missing Kansas State’s pivotal 60-yard touchdown drive that allowed the Wildcats to take a 14-7 lead with just 1:52 remaining in the first half.

Upon returning to the sideline, Hunter was seen standing briefly behind head coach Deion Sanders before voluntarily handing over his helmet and leaving the field again, accompanied by a medical staff member.

During the play that led to his injury, Hunter caught a pass from Shedeur Sanders on a crossing route at midfield and collided at full speed with safety Daniel Cobbs. Although he managed to secure the catch, he quickly indicated to the sideline that he required a substitution.

According to ESPN’s broadcast, the medical team was assessing Hunter’s right shoulder, but the Buffaloes did not provide immediate updates regarding his condition. A halftime announcement from the press box indicated that both Hunter and wide receiver Jimmy Horn Jr. were questionable to return due to unspecified injuries.

Hunter has been a key player for Colorado this season, rarely missing snaps, and is currently in contention for the prestigious Heisman Trophy.

In a recent discussion, Keyshawn Johnson and Heisman Trophy voter Jeff Fellenzer engaged in a spirited debate about the leading contenders for this year’s award. With Travis Hunter and Ashton Jeanty at the forefront, Keyshawn confidently asserted, “They won’t give the Heisman to a Boise State RB!”

Last season, Hunter faced a significant setback, missing three games due to a lacerated liver sustained from a hard hit in a game against Colorado State.

Before his departure on Saturday night, Hunter recorded three receptions for 26 yards and one tackle, bringing his season totals to 49 catches for 587 yards and two touchdowns, along with 16 tackles, two interceptions, and a forced fumble on defense.
