Giants Star Receiver Malik Nabers Out Again with Concussion: What It Means for the Team’s Offense

Giants WR Malik Nabers to miss second straight game with a concussion

New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers, currently leading the NFL with 35 receptions, will miss his second straight game due to a concussion, as confirmed by head coach Brian Daboll prior to Friday’s practice session.

On Thursday, Nabers was still in the third stage of the five-step concussion protocol, which permitted him to participate in stretching and work with trainers away from the main practice field. The standout player was selected sixth overall in the NFL Draft after an impressive career at LSU.

He sustained the injury late in the Giants’ close 20-15 defeat against the Dallas Cowboys on September 26, and he was unavailable during the team’s recent victory over the Seattle Seahawks.

The final injury report will be issued later today, providing more clarity on the team’s status.

In addition to Nabers’ situation, Daboll shared updates on other players: running back Devin Singletary, who is dealing with a groin issue, and starting left guard Jon Runyan, who is sick, will both participate in practice in some capacity.

Receiver Bryce Ford-Wheaton, who made a significant impact with a touchdown return following Isaiah Simmons’ blocked field goal last week, is also nursing a shoulder injury. His availability for the upcoming game against the Cincinnati Bengals remains uncertain as the Giants assess his response during practice.

With a record of 2-3, the Giants have an opportunity to level their season against the Bengals, who are struggling at 1-4 after a narrow 41-38 overtime defeat to the Baltimore Ravens last week.
