Record
Last Week: 2-5
Season: 8-9

(All times ET)

No. 22 Illinois @ No. 24 Nebraska (8 p.m., Friday, FOX and FOX Sports app)

Rice @ Army (noon, Saturday, CBSSN)

Rice has struggled this season, with quarterback E.J. Warner facing challenges, including a troubling number of interceptions. Following a disappointing seven-point performance against Houston, this matchup represents a pivotal moment for the Owls. Chris believes they still possess the ability to score, provided they can limit turnovers.

Georgia Tech @ No. 19 Louisville (3:30 p.m., Saturday, ESPN2)

Louisville enters the 2024 season with impressive momentum after dominating Austin Peay and Jacksonville State with a combined score of 111-14. With Tyler Shough at the helm and a robust backfield, the Cardinals are expected to challenge a Georgia Tech defense that previously allowed significant yardage to Syracuse.

No. 11 USC @ No. 18 Michigan (3:30 p.m., Saturday, CBS)

With Alex Orji leading the offense, Michigan is likely to adopt a run-heavy strategy. This approach could result in a slower-paced game, benefiting their defense against USC’s offense. The Wolverines have struggled to find the end zone, tallying only seven offensive touchdowns against teams like Fresno State and Texas, ranking them among the lowest in scoring among Power Four teams.

Rutgers @ Virginia Tech (3:30 p.m., Saturday, ACC Network)

Virginia Tech has faced a tough schedule, including games against Vanderbilt and Marshall. While Rutgers has performed well against lesser opponents like Howard and Akron, playing at Lane Stadium presents a significant challenge. Chris anticipates that the Hokies will remain focused and not overlook their upcoming game against Miami.

No. 6 Tennessee @ No. 15 Oklahoma (7:30 p.m. ET, Saturday, ABC)

Tennessee has posted impressive statistics against weaker teams, but this road game presents a different challenge, especially for a quarterback making his first start in such a setting. While Josh Heupel may look to capitalize on opportunities, Oklahoma’s defense under Brent Venables is expected to provide a formidable test. Furthermore, the Sooners have struggled offensively, ranking 116th in the nation in yards per play, just ahead of Florida State.

UNDERDOGS TO PLAY ON THE MONEYLINE

Kansas +115
Oklahoma State +105
James Madison +330
Cal +120
Rice +200
BYU +205
Baylor +110
Michigan +180
Navy +280
