2024 College Football Showdown: Will Georgia, Ohio State Dominate or Will an Underdog Rise?

2024 College Football odds: Georgia, Ohio State or the field?

2024 College Football odds: Georgia, Ohio State, or the field? This question is at the forefront of sports discussions as fans eagerly anticipate the upcoming season.

DraftKings Sportsbook appears to favor these three contenders as the leading candidates for the national championship.

Currently, Georgia holds the No. 1 spot in the rankings, while Ohio State is positioned at No. 3, just behind No. 2 Texas.

In the race for the national title, DraftKings has set odds for various matchups: Georgia against the field, Georgia or Ohio State against the field, and Ohio State against the field. There is speculation that Texas could soon enter the conversation as well.

Let’s examine the odds as of September 11.

National Championship Winner – Georgia vs. The Field

UGA: +280 (bet $10 to win $38 total)
The field: -360 (bet $10 to win $12.78 total)

National Championship Winner – UGA/OSU vs. The Field

UGA or OSU: +100 (bet $10 to win $20 total)
The field: -120 (bet $10 to win $18.33 total)

National Championship Winner – Ohio State vs. The Field

OSU: +380 (bet $10 to win $48 total)
The field: -500 (bet $10 to win $12 total)

Though only two weeks into the season, both the Bulldogs and Buckeyes have made strong impressions.

Georgia has dominated its opponents, outscoring then-No. 14 Clemson and Tennessee Tech by a staggering 82-6. Meanwhile, Ohio State has similarly excelled, outscoring Akron and Western Michigan 108-6.

However, among the top contenders, Texas may have the most notable victory — a convincing 31-12 win against then-No. 9 Michigan in Week 2.

If Georgia aims to reach the national title game and secure victory, they will face significant challenges during the regular season. Upcoming matchups include formidable opponents such as No. 4 Alabama, No. 2 Texas, No. 5 Ole Miss, and No. 7 Tennessee.

Ohio State, on the other hand, will contend with No. 9 Oregon, host No. 23 Nebraska, travel to face No. 8 Penn State, and close the season against No. 17 Michigan.

As it stands, DraftKings lists both Georgia and Ohio State at -750 to secure a spot in the 12-team College Football Playoff. The Bulldogs are currently at +165 to win the SEC title, while the Longhorns are at +260, and the Buckeyes are at +110 to capture the Big Ten.
