Chiefs Secure Creed Humphrey as NFL’s Highest-Paid Center with Stunning $72 Million Deal!

Chiefs reportedly make Creed Humphrey NFL's highest-paid center at 4 years, $72 million

The Kansas City Chiefs have made headlines by signing Creed Humphrey to a remarkable four-year contract extension worth $72 million, officially positioning him as the highest-paid center in NFL history, as reported by various sources.

As part of this lucrative deal, Humphrey is set to receive $50 million in guaranteed money. This contract surpasses the five-year, $60 million agreement that the New Orleans Saints reached with Erik McCoy, and it outshines the $42 million guarantee given to Frank Ragnow in his four-year, $54 million deal with the Detroit Lions.

Drafted in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, Humphrey quickly earned a starting position on the Chiefs’ offensive line. He played a pivotal role in fortifying the team’s interior line, establishing a strong connection with quarterback Patrick Mahomes that has been crucial for the team’s offensive success.

Dependability has been a hallmark of Humphrey’s career, as he has started all 51 regular-season games over the past three years. His performance has led to consecutive Pro Bowl selections, although he opted out of the event to contribute to the Chiefs’ back-to-back Super Bowl victories.

During the Chiefs’ recent preseason finale against the Chicago Bears, Humphrey, along with most of the team’s starters, was rested. The Chiefs are set to kick off their regular season against the Baltimore Ravens on September 5, marking a highly anticipated rematch of last year’s AFC Championship game.
