2024 MLB MVP Showdown: Ohtani and Judge Pull Ahead in Thrilling Race!

2024 MLB MVP race, odds: Ohtani, Judge distance themselves from the pack

2024 MLB MVP race is heating up, with Shohei Ohtani and Aaron Judge clearly establishing themselves as frontrunners.

Bettors who placed their faith in Judge to secure the American League MVP award can take comfort in his growing lead over the competition.

His odds have dramatically shifted to -1400 from -900 in just a week, showcasing his dominance.

The New York Yankees’ star outfielder boasts an impressive .328 batting average, along with 106 RBIs and 42 home runs this season.

After a rough patch where the Yankees lost 16 out of 23 games, they have rebounded strongly, solidifying their playoff aspirations.

In a remarkable show of respect, the Toronto Blue Jays intentionally walked Judge on August 3, even with no runners on base and two outs, while trailing by three runs.

Such defensive strategies highlight Judge’s value and confirm his status as the overwhelming favorite for the AL MVP title.

For the latest AL MVP odds, bettors can refer to DraftKings Sportsbook as of August 12.

On the National League side, Shohei Ohtani’s odds have also improved, moving to -1200 from -1000 over the past week.

With Mookie Betts sidelined, Ohtani has surged ahead of the pack, boasting a .298 batting average, 35 home runs, and 83 RBIs. Recently, he made headlines by becoming the first player this season to join the 30/30 club, achieving three stolen bases against the Oakland Athletics.

This accomplishment places him among the fastest players in MLB history to reach this milestone, alongside legends like Eric Davis and Alex Rodriguez.

Meanwhile, Phillies star Bryce Harper’s odds have slipped to +2000 from +750, placing him behind Arizona Diamondbacks’ Ketel Marte, whose odds have shortened dramatically from +4000 to +700.

Marte has been a standout performer, hitting 30 home runs this season, including seven in July alone.

For the latest NL MVP odds, bettors can check DraftKings as of August 12.
