Aaron Rodgers, the 40-year-old Jets quarterback, has been making headlines for everything other than attending Gang Green’s mandatory minicamp. He was recently spotted enjoying a UFC card in Las Vegas, following his return from a trip to Egypt. This marks his first public outing since skipping the minicamp, a move deemed an “unexcused absence” by Jets head coach Robert Saleh.
During a conversation on FS1’s “The Herd,” Marquez Valdes-Scantling revealed that he spent time working out with Rodgers in Los Angeles. The two have maintained a strong relationship since their days with the Packers. Despite the media buzz surrounding his absence, Saleh later clarified that there is no issue between him and Rodgers, emphasizing that the matter was more significant to those outside the team.
Rodgers has also attended previous UFC events, including one where he was seen shaking hands with former President Donald Trump. At the UFC 303 event, notable fights included the light heavyweight championship between Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka, along with matchups featuring Brian Ortega and Diego Lopes, among others.
