A fourth man has been arrested by police in Barcelona in connection with the stabbing of Mounir Nasraoui, the father of 17-year-old Spanish soccer sensation Lamine Yamal. Yamal reported on Thursday that he was recovering well.
Authorities expressed gratitude towards the community for their assistance in apprehending the suspects involved in the stabbing incident, which occurred on Wednesday. Prior to the latest arrest, three individuals had already been taken into custody.
Despite remaining hospitalized, Nasraoui took to social media to share that he was “feeling better” and thanked everyone for their ongoing support during this challenging time.
According to La Vanguardia, a local newspaper, Nasraoui was attacked and stabbed multiple times during a confrontation with a group in the vicinity of Barcelona. Fortunately, he is reported to be in stable condition following his hospitalization.
On a brighter note, Lamine Yamal participated in training with his FC Barcelona teammates on Thursday. The club is set to begin its Spanish league season on Saturday against Valencia.
Yamal’s impressive performance helped Spain clinch the European Championship in July, where he played a pivotal role in the victory over England, assisting Nico Williams for the opening goal in the final. Additionally, he scored a stunning goal in the semifinals and was honored as the tournament’s best young player, achieving this accolade just a day after celebrating his 17th birthday.
