Willy Adames Joins Giants in Historic $182 Million, 7-Year Contract!

SS Willy Adames agrees to $182 million, 7-year deal with the Giants

Willy Adames has signed a remarkable $182 million, seven-year deal with the San Francisco Giants, marking a significant acquisition for the team as they bolster their roster with a power-hitting shortstop in the prime of his career, as reported by Fox Sports.

The 29-year-old Adames is fresh off a standout offensive season, achieving a batting average of .251 alongside a career-high of 32 home runs and 112 RBIs while playing for the Milwaukee Brewers. Known for his solid defensive skills, he combines a strong arm with impressive range, although his defensive metrics experienced a slight decline in 2024.

Throughout his seven seasons in Major League Baseball, Adames has consistently delivered power at the plate, amassing a total of 150 home runs. He made his big league debut with the Tampa Bay Rays in 2018, where he quickly made a name for himself by hitting 20 home runs in his first full season in 2019.

In 2021, he was traded to the Brewers, where he enjoyed one of the best seasons of his career in 2022, slugging 31 homers and driving in 98 runs, contributing to a notable 4.3 WAR. His ability to produce offensively has made him a valuable asset on any team.

Adames began his professional journey when the Detroit Tigers signed him at just 16 years old in the Dominican Republic back in 2012. His rise through the ranks has showcased his dedication and talent, culminating in this significant contract with the Giants.
