How to watch the World Cup in Australia on TV

The 2022 World Cup will be broadcast in Australia on free-to-air channel SBS.

Optus Sport previously held the broadcast rights, but due to streaming issues in 2018, SBS was also able to show games.

SBS has a proud history of covering football in Australia with the late Les Murray, a pioneer of the game.

The broadcaster has confirmed that David Basheer will be commentating on all Socceroos games, while Martin Tyler will announce other key games including the final.
