Australia will participate in a World Cup for the fifth straight year at the 2022 tournament in Qatar.
The Socceroos again had to qualify via the playoffs but kept their nerve and beat Peru on penalties.
Graham Arnold’s side will travel to Qatar on a five-game winning streak but will be tested in Group D alongside France, Denmark and Tunisia.
Countries like Brazil, Argentina, France, Germany and Spain are among the favorites to win the 2022 World Cup, with Australia aiming for its first win at the tournament since 2010.
