Las Vegas will host the 2027 College Football Playoff national championship game.
The College Football Playoff (CFP) officially announced on Friday that the highly anticipated title game is set for Monday, January 25, 2027, at Allegiant Stadium.
To commemorate this exciting development, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority shared a captivating video featuring renowned magician Shin Lim performing a spellbinding illusion at the iconic Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign. In a dazzling twist, Lim transformed the sign to reveal a warm welcome for the College Football Playoff National Championship.
Rich Clark, the executive director of the CFP, expressed confidence in Las Vegas’s ability to host such a significant event, stating, “Las Vegas has shown the world they have amazing venues and boundless energy to host an event like the College Football Playoff national championship in spectacular fashion.”
With this announcement, Las Vegas joins the ranks of the Bay Area (2019) and Los Angeles (2023) as the third location in the Pacific time zone to hold the title game.
John Saccenti, executive director of the Las Vegas Bowl, highlighted the city’s exceptional capabilities, recalling the successful Super Bowl hosted in 2024. He noted, “Every sponsor, every team executive, every league executive, everybody under the sun said, ‘Hands down, the best city that’s ever hosted a Super Bowl.’ Our city is built for it. We have 165,000 hotel rooms, each equipped with substantial convention space for parties and events. Plus, there are nine Las Vegas Strip properties within walking distance of the stadium.”
He further emphasized the ease of access to the city, stating, “You can get non-stop flights from anywhere into here, with restaurant options galore. We can do it better than anybody. It’s an absolute no-brainer.”
Before Las Vegas takes center stage, the 2026 College Football Playoff National Championship will take place at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
