Tom Brady knows a thing or two about dominating division rivals. With a remarkable 90-22 record against AFC East teams throughout his illustrious 23-year NFL career, Brady spent two decades with the New England Patriots. During that time, he guided the team to an impressive 17 AFC East division titles. This dominance meant that for 20 years, Brady consistently challenged and frustrated fans of the Buffalo Bills (with a staggering 33-3 record against them), Miami Dolphins (24-12 record), and New York Jets (31-8).
The GOAT remains impressed when witnessing similar displays of rivalry dominance, such as the Green Bay Packers’ recent extension of their 11-game winning streak against the Chicago Bears. This victory was secured with a dramatic blocked field goal as time expired, all while Brady provided commentary for FOX Sports.
Brady expressed admiration for the Packers’ ability to secure a win, even when their performance fell short of expectations. He shared his thoughts with the “FOX NFL Sunday” crew after the game.
“It’s tough to achieve that kind of success against a division opponent, but they found a way to win,” Brady remarked. “The game was messy for the Packers in many ways, from the interception on the goal line to failing to convert on fourth down. Yet, they managed to grind out a victory in the fourth quarter.”
“Ultimately, that’s what good teams do. They find a way when it’s most needed. The game often comes down to the fourth quarter, and that’s when playmakers must step up. Jordan Love rose to the occasion, connecting with Christian Watson to secure the win, leaving it to the defense to seal the deal.”
Despite the Bears’ disappointing loss that brought their record to 4-6, Brady found positive aspects in their performance.
“I was really impressed by how the Bears handled their challenges. That blocked field goal was devastating for them, especially after losing another game on a Hail Mary against the Washington Commanders in Week 8,” Brady noted. “They could easily be sitting at 6-4 right now.”
The Bears also have reasons to be optimistic about their offense, particularly quarterback Caleb Williams, who showed improvement following a rough two-game stretch that resulted in the firing of offensive coordinator Shane Waldron. Thomas Brown has since stepped in as the new coordinator.
In fact, the Bears outgained the Packers offensively, recording 391 net yards compared to Green Bay’s 366. They achieved two rushing touchdowns, and Williams delivered one of his best performances of the season, boasting a 74.2% completion rate with 231 passing yards, without any touchdowns or interceptions.

“This situation requires a shift in mindset for the coordinator when working with a young player. You can’t just throw new plays at them against a strong NFL defense and expect consistency,” Brady explained. “I appreciated how they adapted to Caleb’s strengths today.”
As the Bears aim to build on Williams’ encouraging offensive display and seek a win against the Minnesota Vikings next weekend, the Packers will return to Lambeau Field for another significant NFC matchup against the San Francisco 49ers, with Brady once again on the broadcast for FOX Sports.
