This win came shortly after Prescott secured a record-breaking four-year contract extension with the team, valued at up to $240 million, showcasing his importance to the franchise.
As the highest-paid player in NFL history, Prescott demonstrated his skills by completing 19 of 32 passes for 179 yards and one touchdown. He faced a formidable Browns defense, which was recognized as one of the league’s best last season. His touchdown pass marked the Cowboys’ opening score, a well-executed 22-yard completion to wide receiver Brandin Cooks, overcoming a blitz.
Brady, making his debut as the lead NFL analyst for FOX Sports, praised Prescott’s performance, noting that the quarterback’s experience was key to securing the road victory. He pointed out how Prescott remained calm under pressure, illustrating his ability to lead effectively.
