Shedeur Sanders might have revealed his preferred NFL team, all thanks to Madden. Every NFL Draft season features a standout player, sometimes a generational talent destined for the No. 1 spot, and at other times, it’s a polarizing quarterback whose future remains uncertain. This year, that standout is Shedeur Sanders, a promising prospect from Colorado who is expected to be a top-10 pick in a draft class lacking depth at the quarterback position.
As the April draft approaches, one of the most intriguing questions is where Sanders will land. Will he join the Tennessee Titans, who hold the No. 1 pick? Could he end up with the New York Giants at No. 3? Or might he find a home with the Las Vegas Raiders at No. 6?
If Sanders’ preference in Madden is any indicator, he could be eyeing the Cleveland Browns, who possess the No. 2 pick:
“I like how they move around on there,” Sanders commented about the Browns’ offensive style in the game.
Choosing to play for the Browns may reflect either boldness or confidence, given the franchise’s history. Since their return to the NFL in 1999, the Browns have cycled through an astonishing 40 different quarterbacks. This statistic alone raises eyebrows about the stability of the team’s quarterback situation.
That number is likely to grow in 2025, regardless of whether Sanders dons the Cleveland uniform. Last season’s starter, Deshaun Watson, faced a season-ending Achilles injury in October and has encountered further complications this offseason. Meanwhile, his backup, Jameis Winston, is now a free agent, enjoying his time as a digital correspondent for FOX Sports during the Super Bowl.
However, there’s a chance Sanders won’t be available when the Browns are on the clock. FOX Sports college football analyst Joel Klatt has suggested that Sanders should be the No. 1 pick in the draft, largely due to his exceptional ability to create plays.
Adding another layer to this narrative is his father, Deion Sanders, a Pro Football Hall of Famer and current coach at Colorado. Deion is known for his outspoken nature, and there are whispers that his presence may dissuade some teams from selecting Shedeur.
The speculation surrounding Shedeur Sanders’ draft position will persist until the first round kicks off on April 24. If he does end up in Cleveland, it will be a decision influenced, in part, by his admiration for a video game.
