Pep Guardiola says Man City will be his last club: 'Maybe a national team'

Pep Guardiola has made it clear that Manchester City will be his final club, expressing a reluctance to manage another team in the future. He stated, “I’m not going to manage another team,” highlighting his commitment to the club.

Recently, the Spanish manager signed a two-year extension to his contract, keeping him at City until 2027. He has mentioned that coaching a national team could be an option after his tenure with the Premier League champions.

In an interview with renowned chef Dani Garcia, Guardiola elaborated on his future plans, saying, “What I’m not going to do is leave Man City, go to another country, and do the same thing as now.” This statement underscores his desire to avoid starting over in a new environment.

Guardiola, often hailed as one of the greatest soccer coaches in history, has enjoyed immense success with Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City. His coaching career has been marked by numerous accolades and achievements.

During his time at City, he has secured 15 major trophies, including six league titles in just seven seasons and the coveted Champions League title. By the end of his current contract, Guardiola will have dedicated 11 years to the club.

Overall, his coaching journey has yielded a total of 32 major trophies, showcasing his ability to lead teams to victory in Spain, Germany, and England.

Interestingly, Guardiola has not dismissed the idea of stepping away from coaching entirely once his time at City concludes. He humorously remarked, “I want to leave it and go and play golf but I can’t. I think stopping would do me good,” reflecting on the toll of continuous management.
