Oregon's Dillon Gabriel breaks Case Keenum's NCAA record for total touchdowns

Dillon Gabriel’s touchdown pass to Gernorris Wilson during Oregon’s matchup against Maryland on Saturday has officially set a new NCAA milestone, surpassing Case Keenum’s record of 178 total touchdowns.

Keenum previously held the record for touchdowns responsible for, which included 155 passing scores and 23 rushing touchdowns, achieved while playing for Houston from 2007 to 2011.

Gabriel matched Keenum’s total with a precise 9-yard pass to Terrance Ferguson just before halftime, securing a 21-10 lead for the Ducks. Following this, Gabriel extended the lead to 29-10 with a 3-yard touchdown throw to Wilson, complemented by a successful 2-point conversion.

This achievement marks Gabriel’s 146th career passing touchdown and his 21st touchdown pass of the current season, alongside six rushing touchdowns, showcasing his versatility as a quarterback.

As a sixth-year transfer from Oklahoma, Gabriel has accumulated 59 career starts, just two shy of the NCAA record held by former Oregon quarterback Bo Nix, underscoring his extensive experience and skill on the field.
