Brazilian soccer star Neymar will return to Santos FC following the termination of his contract with Al Hilal, as reported by various sources on Monday.
At 32 years old, Neymar made a high-profile move to the Saudi Pro League in August 2023, signing a contract worth approximately $300 million. However, his time at Al Hilal was marred by injuries, limiting him to just seven appearances over two seasons, including a significant knee injury that prevented him from participating in the Copa América.
Now, Neymar is set to return to Brazil to don the colors of Santos, the club where his professional journey began. He joined Santos as a youth player in 2003 and made his professional debut in 2009, quickly rising to prominence by netting 107 goals in 177 matches. His success at Santos ultimately led to a lucrative transfer to FC Barcelona in 2013 for $80.5 million.
With his return, Neymar aims to secure a place on Brazil’s roster for the 2026 World Cup, where he will be 34 years old at the tournament’s start. His experience and talent could play a crucial role in Brazil’s campaign.
