Neymar: Reuniting with Lionel Messi would be 'incredible,' 2026 World Cup 'my last chance'

Neymar believes that reuniting with Lionel Messi would be “incredible,” especially considering the success they had as part of the legendary “MSN” trio at FC Barcelona. The Brazilian forward, who made headlines by joining Al-Hilal SFC in the Saudi Pro League for a staggering $300 million in August 2023, has hinted at the possibility of joining his former teammates in Miami.

“Who knows?” Neymar remarked in an interview with CNN Sport, emphasizing the unpredictable nature of football.

At 32 years old, Neymar’s journey has been marred by injuries, limiting him to just seven appearances over two seasons. A significant knee injury kept him out of the Copa América, raising questions about his future in the sport. Currently, he is focused on his contract with Al-Hilal, which is set to expire this summer.

While Neymar has expressed satisfaction with his life in Saudi Arabia, he acknowledged that the idea of reviving the “MSN” connection with Messi and Luis Suárez in Miami is appealing. “They are my friends,” he stated. “We still speak to each other. It would be interesting to revive this trio.”

However, Neymar’s primary ambition lies in making Brazil’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, set to take place across the United States, Mexico, and Canada. “I want to be there,” he declared, recognizing that this World Cup represents his last opportunity to shine on the global stage. “I will do everything I can to play in it.”

His last appearance for Brazil came during World Cup qualifying in 2023, where he contributed two goals and three assists in four matches. Unfortunately, he has not seen action for Al-Hilal since December 7, due to a hamstring injury.
