The Eagles are riding a seven-game winning streak, while the Ravens are fresh off a victory against the LA Chargers. When these teams last met four years ago, Baltimore edged out a narrow 30-28 win on the road. Will the Ravens manage to repeat that success now that they’re back home?
Continue reading for insights and predictions on the Eagles vs. Ravens matchup.
Eagles Soaring High
The Eagles have emerged as one of the most formidable teams in the league, boasting a seven-game winning streak that positions them well for a playoff berth. Their impressive turnaround can be attributed to a defense that ranks among the best, allowing only the sixth-fewest points per game. Philadelphia excels at limiting opposing offenses, conceding the fewest yards per pass attempt and the second-fewest yards per play. They do give up 4.3 yards per carry (11th), but with 33 sacks (9th) and 14 takeaways (t-13th), their defense is a force to be reckoned with. On the road, they restrict opponents to an average of just 15.2 points per game. Are they prepared to tackle the Ravens?
After a shaky start, the Eagles have found their rhythm offensively, scoring over 25 points in six consecutive games. They currently rank seventh in scoring, averaging 26.9 points per game. Saquon Barkley leads the league in rushing yards and yards per attempt, while Jalen Hurts stands fourth in yards per pass attempt and has tallied 11 rushing touchdowns. Philadelphia ranks eighth in yards per play and is tied for the eighth-fewest turnovers. Barkley leads all players with 1,392 rushing yards (10 TDs), while Hurts is second in rushing touchdowns with 11. Can they keep the momentum going?
Key Injuries – DeVonta Smith (questionable); Darius Slay Jr. (out)
Ravens Rallying for the Division
It’s hard to believe that the Ravens started the season with two losses. They now find themselves just half a game behind in the AFC North race. Under the leadership of two-time MVP Lamar Jackson, Baltimore’s offense is a powerhouse, capable of moving the ball more effectively than any other team. Jackson and Derrick Henry form the league’s premier rushing duo. Jackson leads in yards per pass attempt and boasts the highest passer rating in the NFL. The Ravens are first in yards per play and second in points scored per game. Their offensive line has given up the third-fewest sacks, and only three other teams have fewer turnovers than Baltimore. Henry, with 1,325 rushing yards, ranks just behind Barkley. Will Sunday be another easy win for Baltimore?
On the defensive side, Baltimore has struggled to maintain consistency. They allow 24.5 points per game (23rd) and have been even more vulnerable at home, giving up an alarming 32.8 points per game. Despite their strong run defense, which limits opponents to the fewest yards per carry, the Ravens have surrendered more passing yards than any other team. This year’s unit ranks 26th in yards per pass attempt. With 39 sacks (3rd), the pass rush has done its part, but the secondary remains a concern. They will welcome back linebacker Roquan Smith, who missed the Chargers game due to a hamstring injury. How will they fare against the Eagles’ potent offense?
Key Injuries – Kyle Van Noy (doubtful)
