Thrilling OT Finish: Luke Goode’s Clutch 3-Pointer Secures Indiana’s Nail-Biting Victory Over Ohio State!

Luke Goode’s 3-pointer in OT lifts Indiana past Ohio State 77-76

Luke Goode’s 3-pointer in overtime propelled Indiana (14-5, 5-3) to a thrilling 77-76 victory over Ohio State (10-8, 2-5). This win marks Indiana’s fifth triumph in their last six encounters with the Buckeyes, including two victories last season. Ohio State, on the other hand, faced its third consecutive conference loss, each by a narrow margin of two points or fewer.

With just 38 seconds left in regulation, Mobley sank a crucial 3-pointer, leveling the score at 71-71. Indiana then controlled the ball, but Luke Goode’s layup attempt fell short. Oumar Ballo grabbed the offensive rebound but missed his put-back, and after a third attempt, Indiana was unable to score as the clock expired, allowing Ohio State to regain possession.

In overtime, Ohio State surged ahead 76-74 thanks to Bruce Thornton’s impressive three-point play with 1:26 remaining. Indiana’s Myles Rice fought for a layup to equalize but missed. Ballo, however, secured the offensive rebound and found Goode wide open on the wing, who then delivered the decisive shot. Mobley’s attempt to reclaim the lead with a 3-pointer for Ohio State missed, and Kanaan Carlyle’s drive to the basket resulted in another missed jumper with just 14 seconds left.

Goode finished the game with a career-high 23 points, while Ballo recorded a double-double, contributing 21 points and 15 rebounds, along with four assists and two blocks for the Hoosiers. Carlyle added 13 points to the mix.

For Ohio State, Mobley led the scoring with 22 points, supported by Micah Parrish with 19 points and Thornton with 18 points.

Looking ahead, Indiana will take on Northwestern this Wednesday, while Ohio State is set to face No. 17 Purdue on Thursday.
