Kawhi Leonard Unfazed by Paul George’s Exit

Kawhi Leonard shared insights on Paul George’s departure from the LA Clippers, heading to the Philadelphia 76ers. Leonard mentioned he and George anticipated this decision throughout the season, emphasizing that it wasn’t surprising. George’s move came after the Clippers failed to meet his contract demands, ultimately signing a four-year, $212 million deal with Philadelphia.

LA Clippers coach Ty Lue expressed his disappointment over losing George, calling it a tough blow for the team. Despite discussions and efforts to retain George, the Clippers’ initial two-year offer of $60 million was seen as inadequate by George, who later sought a no-trade clause the team couldn’t accommodate. However, Leonard supported George’s decision, focusing on his own commitment to the Clippers and the challenges ahead.

Leonard reflected on his own health and readiness for the next season. He noted the progress of his right knee recovery, showing optimism in recent practices with USA Basketball. Lue also commented positively on Leonard’s performance, signaling a hopeful outlook for Leonard’s return and contribution to the team’s upcoming campaign.
