Seattle Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez took 47.6 percent of the money wagered at BetMGM to win the 2022 American League Rookie of the Year award.
Rodriguez is having an encouraging spring practice with three doubles, a home run, five RBI, two stolen bases and a .925 OPS.
He also ranks second on Baseball America’s 2022 Top 100 Prospects list.
It all adds up that Rodriguez’s chances of winning the Rookie of the Year award have dropped from +900 to +550.
However, there are some differences in the odds for Rodriguez to win the AL Rookie of the Year award across multiple sportsbooks and DraftKings Sportsbook currently offers the best number.

Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. remains the favorite at BetMGM to win the award and Detroit Tigers first baseman Spencer Torkelson is also ahead of Rodriguez on the odds list.

Interestingly, Tigers outfielder Riley Greene has the highest ticket percentage and second-highest handle percentage for Rookie of the Year despite being way down the list.
Greene has all but done the day-to-day midfield job for Detroit to open the season and could see his chances drop significantly in the coming months.

Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Shane Baz has the lowest odds of any hurler. However, the 22-year-old right-hander underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right elbow on Monday March 21 and is expected to miss time and likely need a call-out at Triple-A.
