Jamiya Neal’s impressive 19 points propelled Creighton to a commanding 83-65 victory over UNLV on Saturday night.
In addition to his scoring, Neal contributed significantly to the Bluejays (7-3) with nine rebounds, nine assists, and four blocks. Steven Ashworth supported the team with 17 points and seven assists, while Isaac Traudt showcased his shooting skills, scoring 15 points with an impressive 5-for-8 shooting performance, including 5-for-7 from three-point range.
On the other side, the Runnin’ Rebels (4-4) were led by Jailen Bedford, who scored 20 points and made three steals. Dedan Thomas Jr. contributed 18 points, and Julian Rishwain added 10 points along with two steals.
Creighton seized the lead early in the game, with 18:48 remaining in the first half, and maintained control throughout. By halftime, the score stood at 39-27, with Neal already contributing 10 points. The Bluejays expanded their advantage to 49-27 in the second half, highlighted by a decisive 10-0 scoring run. Ashworth led the team in the second half with 10 points, helping to secure the victory.
