Hornets guard Brandon Miller, No. 2 pick in 2023, out for season after wrist surgery

Hornets guard Brandon Miller, the No. 2 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, is out for the remainder of the season following surgery to repair a torn ligament in his right wrist.

The Charlotte Hornets announced the surgery on Thursday and stated that they will keep fans updated on Miller’s recovery progress. The injury occurred during the Hornets’ recent victory against the Utah Jazz, prompting an MRI that revealed the extent of the damage.

In his second NBA season, Miller showcased impressive skills, averaging 21 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.1 steals across 27 games. As Charlotte’s second-leading scorer, he made 3.9 three-pointers per game, which placed him fifth in the league, underlining his significant contribution to the team’s offense.

Last season, Miller earned a spot on the NBA’s All-Rookie First Team, receiving the Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month honor three times. He also finished third in the Rookie of the Year voting, highlighting his rapid ascent in professional basketball.
