The Miami Heat have suspended Jimmy Butler for two games after he missed a team flight on Wednesday, as reported by ESPN.
Butler intended to join the Heat in Milwaukee for their matchup against the Bucks that evening. However, the organization decided it was best for him to remain at home during their two-game road trip, according to the report.
The Heat are set to return from their road trip on Monday.
This marks the second suspension for Butler this season; he previously faced a seven-game ban on January 3 for behavior deemed detrimental to the team. After returning on January 17, he has managed to score only 39 points across three games.
Butler has expressed his desire to leave Miami, both publicly and privately. The Heat are actively seeking to trade the six-time All-Star before the February 6 deadline.
This season, Butler has averaged 17 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game over 25 appearances for the Heat.
Currently, the Miami Heat hold a record of 21-21, placing them ninth in the Eastern Conference.
